As a multi-day destination and the premier place to learn more about North America’s military heritage, Fort Ticonderoga engages more than 75,000 visitors each year with an economic impact of more than $12 million annually. Presenting vibrant programs, historic interpretation, boat cruises, tours, demonstrations, and exhibits, Fort Ticonderoga and is open for daily visitation May through October and special programs during Winter Quarters, November through April. Fort Ticonderoga is owned by The Fort Ticonderoga Association, a 501c3 non-profit educational organization, and is supported in part through generous donations and with some general operating support made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts.

Take a journey into the past with Captain Lieutenant John Montresor and learn the story of his mission to survey both Ticonderoga and Crown Point as part of our #REALTIMEREVOLUTION 

#OTD May, 15 1774 Captain Delaplace at Ticonderoga writes a letter to General Haldimand informing him that he had received his correspondence, that Montresor had arrived, and explains the basics of Montresor's plans.
Fort Ticonderoga will pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives during the American Revolution during Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26, 2024. Discover the story of the American Army in 1777 and how it defended liberty at Ticonderoga. 

Join a hive of activity as citizens-turned-soldiers reinforced extensive lines of defenses across the Ticonderoga peninsula and beyond to prepare for a renewed British invasion. Throughout the weekend, visitors will witness the labor of liberty as Fort Ticonderoga staff portraying Continental Army soldiers bring to life this defining story through military drill, weapon demonstrations, historic trades, fife and drum performances, hauling timber with oxen and raising huts for shelter. 

On Sunday, May 26th, we will be featuring two special services:

11am Memorial Service (at Fort Ticonderoga)
Join the procession of a Continental Army Soldier’s funeral and see him laid to his final resting place. Pay respect to the numerous soldiers who did not receive a proper burial at Ticonderoga in 1777 and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice they made to secure our liberty today. 

12pm Flag Raising Ceremony (Atop Mount Defiance at 72 Defiance Street)
Join Fort Ticonderoga and the Ticonderoga American Legion as we renew our American flag atop Mount Defiance, as a salute to all those who have fallen in the service of this nation. From this breathtaking vista, remember their sacrifice with a 21-gun salute.
